CHAPARRAL STAR ACADEMY

FRIDAY NOTES

May 26, 2017

CONGRATULATIONS!

Sophomore Hannah Hinojosa competed in the ISI district 11 figure skating competition in Fort Worth this past week-end.  She competed in 10 individual and team events, earning 6 first place medals, 3 second place medals, and 1 third place medal.

ACT BOOT CAMP

Taking the ACT in 2017-18? Studies indicate that students pull highest scores when taking both the SAT and ACT concurrently, and both tests are equally accepted by most institutions of higher education.

Ms. Pesqueda will offer an ACT Bootcamp beginning Monday, June 5th from 9:30 am -12:00 noon and running through Thursday, June 8th. Friday, June 9th will be individual conferences with writing samples generated earlier in the week and by appointment. SAT will be examined briefly for comparison purposes.

All incoming 11th-grade students are encouraged to test during their junior year at some point. The workshop is appropriate prep for incoming 9th graders and beyond since it’s always good to begin early.

Please email RSVP to Ms. Pesqueda so she will know what materials to prepare for you. jinapesqueda@chaparralstaracademy.com

Please mark calendars for July 25th.  All parents are asked to select a 20-minute time slot between 10:30 AM and 6:00 PM to report to CSA MPR to receive information and secure student placement for 2017-18.  Families who will be out of town on that date should send email notification to Mrs. Hagin and call school after July 25th to find out how/when to pick up materials.
