Tours

Chaparral Star Academy has a unique environment and often prospective families want to visit our small community while making a school choice.

Tours are scheduled by appointment and occur between 1:30pm - 2:45pm on school days during the school year and conducted by our wonderful Community Liaison, Mrs. Caitlyn Calilung.

Please avoid arriving for a tour without a confirmed appointment.  If you need to cancel a tour, please notify Mrs. Calilung immediately.

CSA is on the same testing schedule as local ISD’s.  No tours will be scheduled during STAAR testing, end-of-semester exams, local (e.g. B-O-Y & M-O-Y testing) and national assessments (e.g. PSAT, Readistep).

FAQ’s about TOURS

Can my child “shadow” his/her grade level class before we decide on applying to CSA?

Unfortunately, no.  With our 4-hour school day, our quick-paced courses and small class size, we try to limit distractions.  Additionally, FERPA regulations discourage such offerings.

My spouse/child cannot be present for the tour – what now?

We frequently have family members schedule separate appointments, sometimes even deciding to take their kids out of their current school for an additional tour!

How long does a tour take?

Tours are blocked in 30 minute increments.  The campus is small so it does not take that long to see all of it.

May I bring my infant/toddler/preschooler on the tour?

Yes, with the understanding that they remain under your control & are able to be reasonably quiet while in the halls.  With our school being small, loud noises in the hallway can easily distract students.

Can I go into a classroom during the tour?

Unfortunately, no.  With our 4-hour school day, our quick-paced courses and small class size, we try to limit distractions.  Additionally, FERPA regulations discourage such offerings

Are there tours over the summer?

Please e-mail Mrs. Calilung to determine if it possible.
