Welcome to the Chaparral Star Academy PTSO. We are a group of Parents, Teachers and Students who come together to support Chaparral Star Academy by organizing social events and fundraisers that benefit the teachers, staff members and students.

Teacher Luncheons and/or Holiday events

Luncheons and Holiday events are coordinated by PTSO and the Teacher Appreciation Committee. The Teacher Appreciation Committee will create themes for each luncheon or holiday event and provide an online sign up sheet of requested food items for each luncheon or holiday event.

Luncheons are held every 6 weeks and dates are provided below. All parents are welcome to host by setting up and cleaning after the luncheon, as well as, bring food to each luncheon and event. If you would like to host one or more of the luncheons please contact Christy Nunnally at christygnten@gmail.com

Please keep in mind that our teacher workroom is limited on outlets and kitchen space. Please bring food hot and in disposable containers to avoid plugging in small appliances and for easy clean up. Please consider vegetarian and gluten free options for our teachers with allergies.

There are no more scheduled luncheons for 2013.

PTSO Volunteer Opportunities

Star Dad’s group – We are looking for a few great Dads!! If you would like to start a group of Dad’s that would be willing to help out with special events and repair items around the school, please contact Dennis Rogers at drcubed@att.net.

Teacher/Staff Workroom Cleanup and Supplies - The teacher workroom could use some TLC every now and again. Most of our teachers are limited on time and eat lunch at school. They sometimes forget utensils, napkins, cups, etc and do not have time to keep the workroom clean on a regular basis. Teacher Appreciation Committee - Throughout the year, this committee will help coordinate meals, daily themes, and small gift suggestions for the teachers and staff, as well as, during Teacher Appreciation Week. If you would like to be a part of this committee please contact Christy Nunnally at christygnten@gmail.com.

Fundraising

Family Donations – Membership in PTSO is open to all our parents without a membership fee. Donations of $25 per family are requested to help support our organization, but you can give less or more depending on your personal situation. Your donation will help provide special events for our students, give support for our student clubs and activities, provide classroom needs for the teachers, and support and appreciate our amazing teachers and staff members. Please make checks payable to CSA PTSO and place donations in the front office of the school.

Box Tops – The Box Tops for Education program is an easy way for your family to help our school. Take a look in your pantry and see what products have a box top for education label, they are everywhere! Check out the complete list of products at www.boxtops4education.com/earn/clip/Brans.aspx Please carefully cut the box top around the dotted line and put them in a baggie with your child’s name, grade and session (AM or PM). Once you have collected 25 box tops, bring the baggie to the front office or send it in with your child to give to their teacher. At the end of the semester, you will have a chance to win a $25 gift card to Cinemark Theaters for every baggie of box tops you have sent to the school.
