HOMEWORK POSTING POLICY
Homework assignments for K-2nd grade students can be found on the teacher’s website. Assignments will be posted at week’s beginning.
Homework assignments for 3rd – 12th grade students can be found by accessing Google Classroom. Assignments for AM (morning) students will be posted by noon daily, while assignments for PM (afternoon) students will be posted by 4:15pm daily.
To access Google Classroom via a student’s Chromebook, simply head to the website classroom.google.com. This will bring up all of the classrooms to which the student is assigned. However, if the student has “logged out” of his/her chaparralstaracademy.com account, he/she will need to re-login under that account.
To access Google Classroom from any other device (e.g. home computer), the student must first log in to his/her chaparralstaracademy.com account (through mail.google.com). Then, using the same browser, the student can go to classroom.google.com.
The homework policy of Chaparral Star Academy is to reinforce learning at school
Parental assistance, group work, projects, use of reference materials, Internet access and outside reading may be integrated in student’s homework. The amount of homework will vary between the elementary, middle and high school levels. Teachers will inform parents on what to expect on a daily basis.
The homework policy for High School students will be as follows for each six weeks cycle:
- “No late work” will be accepted except under extenuating circumstances.
The homework policy for 3rd – 8th grade students will be as follows for each six weeks cycle:
- 1st day late: -50 % (maximum of 80%)
- 2nd day late: Grade will be recorded as a zero
The homework policy for Kindergarten and 1st – 2nd grade students will be as follows for each six weeks cycle:
- 1st day late: -20 % (maximum of 80%)
- 2nd day late: -30 % (maximum of 70%)
- 3rd day late: -50 % (maximum of 50%)
- 4th day late: Grade will be recorded as a zero
