Off Campus PE

Students wishing to add an agency to the list for the 2017-18 school year must contact Mr. Barnett by September 8, 2017.

For student athletes who participate in off-campus physical activities, often times the activity can substitute for physical education graduation requirements.  For more information about graduation requirements, please follow the links on our website for HB5 Graduation Plans.

In order for participation in an off-campus physical activity to substitute as a high school physical education credit, the activity must be approved by Chaparral Star Academy and the Texas Education Agency.  A list of current agencies can be found here: CSA Approved OCPE Agencies.  Additional agencies may be added to the list at the beginning of each school year.  Please contact the front office for further details.

Please note that students who are enrolled in OCPE program during the Spring semester are required to be assessed for FITNESSGRAM.

If a student would like to apply for OCPE, he/she will need to take the following steps:

1.) AT THE BEGINNING OF THE SEMESTER FOR WHICH THE STUDENT WISHES TO RECEIVE CREDIT, he/she must submit a completed Off Campus PE Substitution Application.  There will be an advertised due date for each semester.  Students wishing to utilize off campus activity during Fall 2017 for high school graduation credit must submit the completed application by September 8, 2017.

2.) AT THE END OF THE RESPECTIVE SEMESTER, the student must submit a completed Off Campus PE Substitution Verification of Hours.  Once the hours have been verified, the student will receive credit for OCPE.  There will be an advertised due date for each semester.  Students wishing to utilize off campus activity during Fall 2017 for high school graduation credit must submit the completed verification of hours by December 15, 2017.
